BlackStar Motor Sports Heads to Johnson Valley for the 2009 King of the Hammers Race

Parker based rock crawling team, BlackStar Motor Sports, has announced that they will be racing in this year’s King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, CA.  This race is called “The ultimate desert race”.  It is the only race where high speed desert racing and hardcore rock crawling are combined.  “This race is going to test both driver and machine.  No where else are drivers, co-drivers and the racecars going to encounter so many different terrains”, said Weston Blackie.  Whoop sections, sand dunes, high speed flats and some of the hardest of the hardcore rock trails are going to be encountered.  This year’s race is going to be somewhere between 75-100 miles long.  “These vehicles (rock crawlers) have never been asked to perform like this.  Last year’s race was a big eye opener for a lot of teams.  Now you see teams, including ours, build new vehicles that are, hopefully, a perfect blend of desert and rocks”.
